Course access and testing
Where do I access the course and testing?
Select Start the 16-Hour Course to continue to Mechanic Roster Academy. The Academy provides the course experience, testing, and support.
Who provides the testing?
Testing provided by Mechanic Roster Academy. Complete all required coursework, then take the course assessment through the Academy.
How much does the course cost?
One course price includes the training, testing, and digital completion certificate. Check the course price and terms with Mechanic Roster Academy. County application and license fees are separate.
Training and certificates
Is all the training included?
Yes. The course includes the learning materials and training needed to follow it. Complete all required course content and activities before taking the assessment.
When do I receive my certificate?
Your digital completion certificate is available immediately after you complete all course requirements and pass the assessment. Payment alone does not qualify you for a certificate.
Can I receive my certificate the same day?
Yes, your digital certificate is issued the same day you complete every course requirement and pass. This describes certificate delivery. It does not guarantee that every learner can start and finish the course in one day or that the county renews a license that day.
Do I need to mail anything for the course?
The course process and certificate delivery are online, with no course documents to mail. Your county renewal is separate; Miami-Dade offers an online submission option for its application and supporting documents.
What passing score, time rules, or retakes apply?
Review the Academy’s terms for this specific 16-hour course to confirm the passing score, required study time, assessment rules, and retake options. Requirements are course-specific.
Can I read course information in Spanish?
Yes. This site has separate English and Spanish pages. Use EN or ES at the top to view the equivalent page. Check the Academy’s course information for the available learning and assessment languages.
County renewal and support
Do I need 16 hours or 32 hours?
The county application lists 16 hours of continuing education for a one-year mechanic renewal and 32 hours for two years. Confirm your renewal period and permit requirements with Miami-Dade. A single 16-hour course does not alone supply 32 hours.
Does the course certificate renew my county license?
No. The course certificate records course completion. You still submit the county renewal application, required supporting documents, and applicable fees. County review and licensing are separate from certificate issuance.
Does this replace an ASE or AATI credential?
No. A continuing education completion certificate does not replace the professional credentials or other documents required for your county permit. Check the county checklist for your situation.
